Electrified mortice locks are dual purpose mechanical locking devices designed to work both manually and electrically. On the secure side of the door (the inside) the manual mechanism ensures that escape is always possible; electrical components are introduced to control traffic moving from the opposite side of the door (the outside).
Electromechanical locks can be operated by a simple push button from a remote point or locally by any electrical or electronically coded switching device or reader. Integral key override can be introduced at the outside of the door if required.
