Taking Power to the Door
Power transfer units are an essential part of all access control systems that include an electrified lock or electronic device on the door leaf. Since power is required across the hinge line it is important to provide a secure and ‘mobile’ conduit through which the cables are fed. This can be achieved in a number of ways.
The decision should be made with deference to the security level expected from the system. Concealed power transfer methods
(although more expensive to install) are preferable to surface mounted units.
