Panic Exit Hardware

Panic Exit Hardware is required where the exit door is used by members of the public and must provide 'safe and effective escape through the doorway with minimum effort and without prior knowledge of operation'. Typical applications include: Shops, Schools, Hospitals, Theatres & Cinemas. Other places of entertainment will also require Panic Exit Hardware.

Panic Exit Hardware from Relcross is designed with the emphasis on both safety and security. From 1st January 2010 it became mandatory for all exit devices to comply with the latest revisions of EN1125 (Public Buildings) or EN179 (Low Occupancy - Trained Personnel) and CE marking. According to EN1125 the length of the panic exit device should be as near as possible the effective width of the opening and not less than 60% of the width of the opening.

Heavy Duty - 22 Series Exit Devices

Incorporating modern touch bar styling and suitable for all types of doors, the 22 Series Exit Device represents the entry level product in our range of Panic Exit Hardware. 22 Series Escape Hardware is designed specifically for use in areas where frequent use and abuse can be expected. This Escape Hardware is constructed from heavy gauge rolled steel and incorporates the proven heavy duty touch bar mechanism used successfully in all architectural grade Von Duprin Panic Exit Devices.

Available in ‘rim’ latch and 'surface' vertical rod styles.

Architectural Grade - 33A/35A Series Exit Devices

Von Duprin 33A Escape Devices and Von Duprin 35A Escape Devices represent part of our 'Architectural Grade' offering of Escape Hardware i.e. Escape Hardware with an aesthetic appeal suitable for architectural specification but retaining the robust and durable on site performance associated with all Von Duprin Exit Hardware.

Escape Hardware in the 33A and 35A series is designed for use on narrow stile escape doors with stile widths as narrow as 44mm*. Care should be taken to consider *stop depths at specification. This ‘narrow stile’ device, incorporates modern touch bar styling for heavy traffic applications. Available in ‘rim’ latch and 'surface' vertical rod styles.

Von Duprin 33A Series Devices incorporate a grooved mechanism case and Von Duprin 35A Series Devices incorporate a smooth mechanism case. These varying styles of Panic Exit Device are mechanically and dimensionally identical and offer a large range of standard and optional features. These features include an extensive range of standard trim (outside access devices), optional Hex Key & Cylinder Dogging along with electrical features such as Electric Latch Retraction (EL) and Alarm Kits (ALK). Each of these standard features and options make the Von Duprin 33A Series Devices and Von Duprin 35A Series Devices one of the market's most versatile series of Panic Exit Devices.

Architectural Grade - 98/99 Series Exit Devices

Von Duprin 98 Series Escape Devices and Von Duprin 99 Series Escape Devices encompass our flagship range of architectural grade Panic Exit Hardware.

Inluding all the features of the Von Duprin 33A Escape Devices and Von Duprin 35A Escape Devices this range uses a standard size centre case mechanism for door stile widths >89mm*. Care should be taken to consider *stop depths at specification. These devices can be used on timber, aluminium or hollow metal escape doors where durability, reliability and aesthetic appeal are key requirements in the specification of Panic Exit Hardware.

Used extensively on escape doors in commercial premises, schools, hospitals, universities, industrial and military establishments, the Von Duprin 98/99 Series is our heaviest duty and most flexible range of Panic Exit Devices. Also available with Pneumatic Latch Retraction (PN) and Delayed Exit (Chexit) options this Panic Exit Hardware can be used in specialist situations where precise operational requirements are identified.
