Ambassador Theatre Group Introduces Falcon Waterless Products

Dramatic Water Savings by Ambassador Theatre Group

The Ambassador Theatre Group is achieving consistent energy reductions and cost savings year on year in many ways, including introducing Falcon Waterless Urinals within their venues alongside developing water monitoring processes.

Falcon Waterless Urinals

Six London Theatres have installed Falcon Waterless Urinals - The Savoy Theatre,
The Harold Pinter Theatre, The Playhouse Theatre, The Duke of York’s Theatre, The Fortune Theatre and The Trafalgar Studios.

All are now enjoying water savings of up to 150,000 litres of water per year, per urinal -
a massive saving in water charges.

They are soon to be joined by The Apollo Victoria.

The Falcon system comprises vitreous china fixtures with a patented cartridge that locks into a housing in the base of the urinal.

The use of nonporous materials in the design of the bowl ensures that all waste passes into and through the cartridge.
That's all there is – no flush valve assembly, no water supply hookup, and no wasted water.

The water saving figures quoted here are based on normal efficient usage of a flushing urinal. A small steady leak from a cistern can waste a further 227,000 litres of water per year. Often, leaks go undetected in a flush urinal, escaping water spreads across the back of the bowl and is hard to see. A stuck urinal flush valve can waste 6,370 litres per day. A waterless urinal will not leak.

Supplied by Relcross Ltd via their distributor EcoAd, Falcon Flax Urinals are designed to carry advertisements (optionally) across their tops. This maximizes the commercial opportunity presented to a captive audience while removing the hygiene problem of wall mounted advertisements. Urinal mounted ads are easily cleaned and offer no nooks or crannies to harbour bacteria.

Velocity Waterless Cartridge

The heart of the technology is the Velocity Cartridge, providing odour free operation and easy maintenance. The pleasant smelling sealant liquid inside the cartridge provides an air tight barrier to prevent odours from escaping. The cartridge also acts as a trap for uric sediment, which could otherwise contribute to drain blockages. This results in a hygienic and odour free environment, clean pipes and no water wastage. The only maintenance is routine spray and wipe cleaning and an easy change of the cartridge after around 7000 uses, which might be two to three times per year.

The sealant liquid lasts for the life of the cartridge so there is no need to add more between cartridge changes. Furthermore, because the surface of the urinal is either dry or drying, bacteria that may be circulating in the washroom via flush plumes have great difficulty forming colonies on the surface of the urinal. This means areas around waterless urinals, and the washroom generally, are cleaner and more hygienic.

The Ambassador Theatre Group joins The Hard Rock Stadium (home of the Miami Dolphins), Camp Nou in Barcelona, Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough and many others who have installed Falcon Waterless Urinals.
